It was a lovely spring day again yesterday (I'm from the UK, so there's bound to be a lot about the weather on my blog), and DH has taken some holiday from work,
so we went to visit Sheffield Park Garden, which is owned by the National Trust. The gardens were glorious, full of rhododenron and azaleas. You wouldn't believe the colours; if you designed a flower with those colours nobody would believe they were possible. And then we saw some goslings which were extremely cute - ducklings are common, but goslings more of a rarity.Unfortunately, a bit later when we were having a cup of tea I started to feel unwell and we had to make a dash for home. I won't go into graphic details, but I think it was something I ate for lunch!!!
Luckily I felt okay today, and even better when the postman arrived with a package for me. It was some fabric I had ordered from a UK shop with a sale - not as cheap as in the USA, but brilliantly cheap for the UK. Nothing to show on the sewing front, but I made a real effort to get on with my black and white quilt which has taken a bit of a back seat recently. All being well I will get much further on with it tomorrow.

What lovely flowers, everything looks so green and fresh! And the ducklings are adorable, ours hatched quite a while ago around here and have already flown off.
Very nice fabric, and even better if it was a good price!
I love the flower photos. You are right about the Azaleas, I've got loads in the garden as I think they are so bright and cheerful for this time of the year.

What a beautiful place to visit. I'm sorry that your visit was cut short, but glad that you are feeling better. Your fabrics are beautiful.
I like the fabric selection you bought. It's always good to buy on sale, but I think the cost here is expensive. Seems like its creeping up to 9 dollars a yard. So now I'm saving every little scrap. Maybe one day I'll make one of those "crumb quilts" I see on Quiltville's site.

Oh my! The garden does look just beautiful! We've been having such foul weather over here that I can understand how you appreciate those brilliant sunny days. I would like to see England again someday. It was our first overseas trip with our children. I'm so sorry you got hit with the bad lunch but I'm glad you're feeling better.
