A walk in the woods

One of our regular walks is through the woods on the other side of the main road. At this time of year it's a favourite walk as both Ruby and I enjoy crouching our way through the fallen leaves. I though you might enjoy taking the walk with us.

After we've gone down our lane and crossed the main road we come into the woods.

Happy dog.

The trees are mostly beech, with quite a few large holly bushes at the edges of the woods. It's not very large, but well managed.

I tend to follow the path made by these felled trees, though Ruby charges about all over the place.

Earlier in the year we came in one morning to find that the local school children had been into the woods, constructing shelters.

Some are more successful ….

…than others.

Is there a treat for such a good dog?

At the end of the woods we come to a gate into a field.

Earlier in the year Ruby had to go on the lead at this point because there were sheep in the field. Tomorrow I'll show you the rest of our walk.

You sure do live in a beautiful area, Amanda. Art just walked by, saw your photos, stopped to admire and said, "Cool". It must be so much fun to walk in those woods.
