I've finished the lap quilt that I showed in a previous post. This was a leaders and enders project, using scrap strings. The large open spaces were great for practising quilting feathers, but this left the diamond shapes a bit puffy, so I've quilted them pretty densely. I used lots of different filler stitches on the diamonds, though you can't actually see them very well because of the busyness of the stripes. That's just as well really, as it wasn't easy to keep a good flow going with all of those seams. But it was fun to try out lots of different fillers.
I've got a good home for it already, so I'll be delivering it very soon.

what lovely bright colours .. hope the owls .. or scouts .. or spies had a productive time xx
What a beautiful quilt. It shows that scraps and leader/enders can really be used to make a stunning quilt. I really like the quilting u you've done on it, the feathers are so well done.
Now wouldn't that be funny if it really were some misguided lost spies.
It's lovely. I wish I enjoyed making string quilts, because I sure love how they look. Great job.
This is a great finish. What a nice way to use up scraps without that crazy disorganized feeling that some patterns create! I've also found that free motion gets a bit challenging when there are a lot of seams to deal with.
What fabulous texture your quilting has added to the finished quilt. Perfect! Looks like there were lots of fun practice spaces.
Somebody is going to be a very happy recipient of that gorgeous lap quilt. The design and colors are very lovely.
Ha! "or spies...." That's funny right there :D
I LOVE the strip quilt! Pretty, pretty. Job well done. And feathers?!!??!?! Oh Amanda....I bow down to you!
What a pretty quilt. That pattern is on my bucket list. Great idea to feather the open spaces, they look really good.
