Hooray - my Strawberry Crush is finished. It's been a bit of a slog. I thoroughly enjoyed the mystery part of it, making the blocks, but was unhappy when I laid them all out together as per the original instructions. It was too busy and too bright. After leaving the blocks lying on the spare room bed for a couple of weeks I decided to put some of them together to make a smallish quilt - sort of single sized. The borders are a pale lime green which seems to tone the rest down quite well. The quilting isn't brilliant - hence no close-ups. I did straight lines around the stars and the octagon shapes and then meandered in the rest. That bit wasn't too bad, although I did end up with a few bunched up bits here and there. Then I did meandery loops in the side borders and loops and leaves/hearts in the end borders. They aren't very good, rather uneven and too many 'slips'. But, it's done, washed and on my bed for now.
Strawberry Crush Plus One will be a wall hanging using the rest of the star blocks - or possibly some cushion covers. Strawberry Crush Plus Two, Three etc will be some tote bags made out of the remaining large triangles. The rest of the blocks will find their way into something, some day, perhaps.
So now I'm off to eat some strawberries and creme fraiche to celebrate!

Wow, two finishes in less than a week. I like your Strawberry Crush a lot. It is bright, but in a happy way. Has it grown on you now that it's finished, or still not so much your style?
Done is good!
Hooray! You finished your SC! I like it. Mine is put together and now I have to quilt it. It will have to wait until next week as we are off for a week at the beach. But seeing yours - I am inspired to get mine done.
Wow! I am really really impressed! This is just gorgeous! You are just amazing Amanda!
Hey, It looks great from my side of the pond. Colors are bright and cheerful.
Enjoy your strawberries....I have been putting quite a few packages in deep freeze for this winter. Our strawberry plants are loving their new home we made for them in January.

Hi Amanda,
Your quilt looks so pretty, one of the nicest OC's I've seen - let's forget about the little faults - only you know!
Quilty hugs - Lurline.
Well it sure looks yummy from here!! :-D
I like it! the diagonal lines really make it flow together, I think your design change is wonderful!
Good job! Your quilt looks beautiful and I love the way you set it...The colors are great. If you don't tell us all the problems, we wouldn't know it. We are our own worst critic. The good thing is, it is usable and you are already enjoying it. I know people that can't even sew a button on. Don't sell yourself short girl. It looks GOOD! Hugs, Linda
I especially like your border design; of course the rest of the quilt is wonderful also. I really like the colors you used. Enjoy your strawberries and crene frauche!
Woohoo! I bet it feels good to cross that one off the list. I think it looks great. And as they say, finished is better than perfect. Nobody will ever take a magnifying glass and look for slips in the quilting, they will just snuggle up and enjoy the finished project.
It is lovely and don't worry about the quilting not being perfect. It is done and you did a great job.
I'm so glad you found a way to make this pleasing to you. It really is pretty now! And don't worry about those quilting slips. No one will ever notice them if you don't point them out.
Yeah Amanda! Finally a pic of the Crush!!! And, even though you didn't do any close-ups, the quilting looks great!!! I also LOVE how you used the #2 blocks to lengthen the quilt!
The colors are fun!!!!!
Congratulations on finishing your OC Mystery!
It looks great!
Love the colors in yiour Strawberry crush.Divine.
Ooohh I love that quilt! It looks wonderful!
Amanda what an absolutely stunning quilt and I really know how much hardwork it was too.
You should be very proud and I love the colours you chose
Congratulations!!! It looks great to me. My pieces still sit inside a drawer. I had good intentions but I lost them somewhere last month.

Congrats on your finish, you definately deserve a celebration!! Looks like you've done a great job :)
Congrats on your finish! I like the combination of pink, purple and green that you used in Strawberry Crush...very refreshing :)
It is just beautiful! I wish I could get my under way again. I really like how you'be placed your blocks and your diagonal white squares... Sigh. Why didn't I notice that line when I was putting mine together. Did you say that you have quilted this on a domestic machine? That's a pretty big quilt! I WILL GET BACK TO MINE!
How wonderful! I really love all the quilts that were made in that mystery and the cool thing is everyone seems to be getting them completed!! I am looking forward to the next one, aren't you!!!!
