Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (59)

Joseph
Well, I did it. I managed to get up to London and see the show. This was quite a personal triumph for me, as I have suffered from panic attacks for some time now and after having to leave The Lion King some years ago have found it very difficult to face going to the theatre. I get incredibly nervous when I'm travelling too. I've missed so many things over the last few years because of my anxiety disorder, but was determined not to miss this.

And I'm so glad I didn't. The show is such fun, so energetic and colourful and the music of course is catchy and amusing. It's not deep or thought provoking, just unadulterated good fun. It was great too, to see Lee Mead in the lead role after having seen him grow throughout the reality TV programme Any Dream Will Do. He's got great stage presence and a cracking (for non-UK readers that means terrific) voice.

Now, of course, I'm hoping to plan some more trips to London and theatre visits. I'll just have to see how tired I am over the next week or so after two extremely busy and tiring days.

Gosh, Amanda... You and I share that same problem. I get anxiety attacks when I go anywhere alone. I have to force myself to do it. Congratulations of going to the theatre. I'm so glad you had a ood time. I like that musical also.

So glad to hear you were able to overcome your fears long enough to enjoy this production.

Isn't there some kind of medication that would help?

Have a fun weekend.

Good on you, Amanda! So pleased you enjoyed the show and hopefully you will get to see more.
We are 56k's out of Perth,so I don't get to see too many big shows either. Australia's Jason Donovan played Joseph for quite a while over there, didn't he? Your Joseph is ... cute!
Best wishes - Lurline.

OOOOOOOHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so jealous!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE this show!!!!!!!!!
And it would be so cool to see it in London!!! You lucky girl!!!!!
(and we're planning to try to do it at our school this next year)
My daughter and I loved seeing Starlight Express in London 9 years ago - the energy, the stage built especially for the skaters, the whole thing!! - was just so fabulous!!!!
I'm glad you got through the whole experience, given your previous problems with anxiety and stuff. You should be very proud of yourself. I hope you enjoy many more excursions.
Also glad you survived all that lab work - those glucose tolerance tests can be brutal to get through, not to mention all the "lost" time - when you think about all you could be doing if not stuck there. (oops - no pun intended)
I've got to spend some time looking through your last couple of blogs...I've been away from blogland for a few days and I can see I've missed a lot!!!!
Hope you continue to feel better and enjoy life.

Amanda,
I am glad you were able to enjoy the show! I would love to see a show in London. I have only seen shows in New York and Los Angeles, and it has been quite a while.
