I've been hearing it all day, the gentle purring sound of frogs in our pond. And now I've come to bed I can still hear them outside the window, which I keep a little bit open. They are, to put it reasonably politely, 'at it like knives'.
I've never heard the term either, but I've had the experience many many times, and now I can say, thank goodness for air conditioning and closed windows.

I've never heard the term "at it like knives." I love it! Not much enjoyment in those faces though. :-)
Funny...but bothersome I am sure!
We'll get frogs as soon as it rains...and later it will be the crickets singing. Oh, the joys of outdoors!
