A brave little soul

This little primula has braved the freezing temperatures, the biting wind, the hailstones and the snow flurries to poke its nose up above the soil. I thought the snowdrops would be first to bloom, but they're still in bud, so a photograph of them will have to wait for a while.

Last week I went to a day workshop on making a box with trays. I was delighted with the outcome, and plan to make several more for birthday gifts this year.

I've been busy with several other projects, but nothing ready to show yet - nor have we had enough sunshine to be able to take any decent photographs.

The flower is so pretty and contains a promise of more to come with the warmer temperatures.

What a neat idea - the box with trays and you make it...loved the tassel on it....makes it look so stately!

Take care -

It is hard to believe that you have flowers blooming already. Even here we are waiting for another potential freeze and shivering through the day. What a nice box. Is it fabric covered? It is always nice to have unique gift ideas ready to go.

So lovely to see those little yellow flowers peeping up.
Yous must have been patient to make the box, I did one once and found it very fiddley.

It has been well below or norman temperature for weeks now, but my daffodils are growing taller each day, and I keep seeing large flocks of robins. Good signs. I love the box, you really could make so many differents styles depending on the fabric choices.

What a hardy, lush little plant, after the winter (which isn't over) a bright promise. I love the box, I'll bet it took awhile to do, it looks very intricate.

What a great box. I'm sure I've got a kit for it somewhere.

Hi Amanda, thanks for popping in.

Ooo love little boxes with secrets. The one you made is so cute with such an interesting way of opening. Have you seen the ones which fall flat in a cross shape when you take the lid off? If not let me know and I'll take a pic and email it to you.

Yes I do like Arts and Crafts things.

In theory tomorrow I'm dragging poor hubby on a snowdrop walk. I hope some are out at Bank Hall ruins. :-)

Have a lovely Valentine weekend.
