Spring IS on its way (179)

Today the sun shone for a few hours in the late morning and early afternoon and it was milder than it has been (I still needed my thick coat and gloves though), so Christopher and I went for a walk in the park. Lots of other people had the same idea. The skate park was heaving with youngsters on BMX bikes and skateboards; there were more playing football and basketball on the tennis courts and a football match going on over on the pitches. The playground was absolutely full of small children haring around all over the place, going on the swings, slides, zip wires, climbing frames and roundabouts.

As we were walking along I spied these little beauties nestling in the long grass - crocuses and snowdrops, a sure sign that spring is on its way. It's the best time of the year I think, as life starts to reassert itself again.

This is one of the newly laid paths in the park, and I can see a table runner calling me using this pattern.

My snowdrops are a bit behind up here, but the daffodils are just poking up now,
That path will be a good pattern,

Talking of patterns i have some pictures of crop circles that look great for a design too, i will post them one day.

Take care

Yes, Spring in close...crocus are in bloom here in Oklahoma also...noticed some on Friday at a friends home.

That would be a pretty design for a table runner.

What happy spring flowers! Sounds like a lovely day. The path is so beautiful (must have been designed by a quilting civil engineer do you think?)

Oh! I do love to see the crocus peeking their little heads through the ground! Can you imagine that we cannot plant them here in Arizona. It rarely freezes over the winter months so all bulb flowers are out. I miss them all since moving here.
Glad the weather is warming up a bit for you.
oxox,

I always loved the euphoria of spring in the Midwest. That's something I miss in Hawaii. But crocuses in February? That's early. We didn't see them till late March or early April in Chicago.

I love it, when I see these folowers coming out of the ground!

You have a good eye when it comes to finding a quilt design in your surroundings! And good that you had your camera to capture the image to remember it.

The pattern on the walkway looks a bit like the blocks in the Neutral quilt I finished earlier in this year.

Would make a great tablerunner.

We have had sunshine and warmer temperatures the past two days. I had to get outside for a walk, too. Trees are beginning to bud!!!! Yes!

Now you are a real quilter when you see quilts in pavements. LOL

I'm like you I love this time of the year when you can see the life coming back into the plants.

Love and hugs Gina xxx
