Yet another February finish, that's what's going on!! This was my one and only UFO. I made the top last year to use up lots of odds and ends of fabric, using the Random Ohio Stars pattern from the Quiltville site. I didn't want to buy any more wadding just yet, so I backed it with a fleecy blanket that lives in the car and quilted the two layers together. It's a fairly rough and ready quilt, one that I just wanted to get done and dusted. There's lots of bits of fabric in there that I'm not keen on, so it will be ideal to live in the car to drape over chilly knees in the winter, or drag out for a picnic blanket in the summer.
Here's Rosie checking for loose threads - you can see how little space I have in my sewing room, it's impossible to lay anything out there.
Rosie giving it the okay!
Now I'm at a bit of a loose end - I've got plenty of hand stitching to do, stitchery BOMs to catch up with and applique to do on my Mariner's Compass quilt. But no machine sewing planned. That won't do at all, so I'm going to have fun looking through my magazines and books and planning something new.

Looks like the quilt top is getting the furry inspection...and I am sure it will pass.
Rosie and your quilt are great. You'll be the most stylish picnicker wherever you go. I have about that same amount of floor space in my sewing room. The bed hogs the floor space, but it is a necessity.
It's a great car/picnic quilt. I think the kitty likes it too!!
Even with just odds and ends, you create a piece of beauty, Amanda. You are amazing!
Are you going to be doing Bonnie's challenge of something in green? I'd like to we'll have to see how it goes. We are taking off for Idaho probably next week. Could be gone as long as two weeks. I think cats like any quilt they are allowed to get on.
Well, well Amanda...it looks like you are ready to take on Bonnie's DoubleDelight!!!!! *wink*
Sewing room space? Me and you alike! I can only lay out about three blocks in my sewing room. I have to pick up my futon to lay anything out in the bedroom and if it gets bigger than that I go to my friend's house!!
I like quilts drapped over the backs of sofas so they are on hand for snuggling under on winter evenings. During the summer they tend to get put away because of the intense sunlight (ha - wonder if we'll get any this year!).
I really like that quilt! It is one that I have wanted to do for a while now! I think you did a wonderful job!
