Lost and Found (126)

Many months ago I bought Lynette Anderson's book Friends for Christmas and decided to make the large quilt. I made the first block back in July - and then lost the book and the fabric! I knew that I'd tidied it away somewhere when I was tidying the house up for prospective buyer visits, but I couldn't find it anywhere. At last, it turned up last week, at the bottom of a basket full of fabric. So, now I've finished the second block and, with luck, may get it finished for Christmas this year, or possibly it will have to wait for next year now.

I love them, they're so whimsical. I do hope Hugo and Felix like them.

Heres a 'woof' from Hugo and a 'meow' from Felix.... they love your blocks from the book Friends For Christmas, not many copies of that left in the world so you are lucky to have got yours!

Don't you hate that! I just spent weeks figuring out where I had put a particular quilt top that needs to be quilted soon! :-)

Oh I so agree; they are fabulous blocks! Just knowing the charm and charachter each block has would be motivation to continue along. Thanks for sharing! Can hardly wait to see the whole quilt!

Hi Amanda, your Friends for Christmas blocks look great, I have nearly finished block 1- 3 penguins I'm a bit slow...too many things on the go at once...silly me. This is my first visit to your blog and your photos have been lovely, so sad about your Brighton Pier, such a waste! The cemetery pics looked very peaceful, I used to like visiting cemeterys when I was younger(before children) you come away with a traquil feeling and they can be sooo interesting, we have a couple of older ones around here, must revisit them with my camera, happy stitching,Sheryl

How ADORABLE!!! How CUTE!!!
I am also saddened to hear the news about your mother-in-law. I too have a wonderful MIL; one who shares my passion and love of sewing. I am her "daughter she never had" although she DOES have two of her own :0) Your Happy Houses (sorry, can't remember the exact name) is so bright too. And yes, what a perfect memory of your MIL.

Hey Amanda! I just popped across from Lynette Anderson's blog to admire your penguins. This is a pattern I've eyed off for years, but haven't quite got around to buying because the "To Do" list is always so long!! It was also strangely comforting to find I'm not the only one who puts things in 'safe' places then forgets where that was! Tee! Hee! Hee! Enjoy making the rest of you Christmas quilt! Bear Hugs! Hi Amanda,
That is just so funny and typical of us quilters/crafters. My husband calls my sewing room The Tardis!!
That is a lovely Christmas Quilt. I like that design too and have thought about doing it but I have too many other projects I want to do so it will have to go on the wish list.
Enjoy making it.
Kind regards from Liz

Amanda, you just keep coming up with the cutest projects. My granddaughter Tabitha would love the penguins. I love the Christmas tablerunner and quilt from your previous post too. I'm sure your friend will love her gift.
