No sewing for a few days ...

until my sewing room has been painted and everything put back in again. I'm sure there was a good reason for deciding to decorate the room, but it's difficult to remember it when everything is in uproar. This morning I took everything out of the room and stacked it in the dining room though some of the things have ended up in the kitchen.

It's amazing how much stuff came out of such a small room.

The first view is from the door, looking straight out into the garden; the second view is to the left of the door and the third is the view to the right. And that's it. But it's a room I can call my own and where I can leave everything out that I'm working. I'm lucky not to have to work in a corner of the dining room or lounge.

This afternoon I washed down the walls and the woodwork, and Christopher filled up all the little holes left by taking hooks down. He felt that I'd been showing you too many pictures of Ruby recently, so here's a couple of Man at Work.

He likes to get properly dressed for the job in hand as you can see, even though it only took him about five minutes. But it got him in the right mood - and gave him an opportunity to ask for cups of tea!

Tomorrow we shall start to paint, and since it's such a small room, it hopefully won't take us too long to finish. Then I'll show you what it looks like.

I'm sure you'll be delighted with the fresh new look when it's done. I dread starting - our whole house needs to be redecorated.

What a lovely view of the garden you have while working away in your sewing room. It is so nice to have a space to sew and to be able to leave it all ready whenever you are able to find the time. I hope you chose a lovely shade of paint. It will certainly be worth the trouble once everything is properly settled in again.

Once it's all done you'll be so happy! It looks like a nice and cozy room with lots og daylight.
Good luck!

It's always the prep work that takes so much aggravating time. Christopher is so cute. Your house is so gorgeous, Amanda! I hope you'll show us how it looks when it's all done.

How exciting ! A sewing room redo! It's nice to see Christopher, but you know Ruby is so adorable, there can never be too many pictures of her!

SNAP! We've been renovating my craft room too. Just witing for the carpet and blind and now we're painting my cupboards all white so they match! Look forward to seeing your room all complete. I need to do some culling though before I move it, I have way too much stuff!

Hey Amanda! Take it from someone who did the sewing room-reno thing last year ... it's a pain in the butt while you're in progress, but once your room is decorated and organised just how you want it, you'll love to go in there to create and it will be all worthwhile ... promise! :0) Happy painting! Bear Hugs! KRIS

If you are astonished at how much came out of a small space, then I'd say you are very good at organising storage!! And it will be soooo worth it, even though the chaos bugs you. I think the satisfaction of knowing a room, or place is as fresh and clean and sorted as it can possibly be is well worth the mayhem and weariness of doing it!

PS. My family would have other ideas though..
