An at-home weekend after all

What is it about cats! They drive you mad with worry making you think they are unwell, so you take them to the vet and they seem miraculously to get better. Rosie hasn't been eating well for the last week or so, has lost weight and seemed very lethargic. As we were planning to go away for the weekend I thought I'd better get her checked out by our vet. After all the usual indignities he confirmed that she has indeed lost weight - about 0.5 kg, which is quite a lot for a cat - and suggested that we should keep her indoors for the next three days to monitor her input and output. She slept on a cushion on the sofa all afternoon, then on my bed all night - until about 5 o'clock when she decided she was hungry. So that was that for my sleep. She hasn't eaten much but she has eaten so we'll have to see what happens over the next few days.

Anyway, I'm quite glad we decided not to go away after all. The weather forecast is dreadful for the weekend, so I think we'll be happy to snuggle indoors in the warm.

It is good to be home when the weather is gloomy and wet! And Rosie will enjoy your company. Hope she gets better soon!

Oh Amanda, don't we spoil our furry friends....but they love us so much we want to do special things for them...like get up at 5:00 in the morning to feed them. Sure hope she gets to feeling better.

Enjoy the weekend in spite of not being able to go away for a short vacation.

Poor kitty - hope she is on the mend soon. We've had miserable rain and wind the past couple of days. Just want to stay in. Does your fire in the kitchen that you mentioned in your previous post warm it up?

Having seen the weather forecas, you are probably better off staying at home this weekend.
Perhaps Rosie has eaten something she shouldn't have. That's what happens to Stan when he goes off his food for a while.

Love and hugs Gina xxx

I hope Rosie feels better real soon and that she puts on her weight again. She looks pretty content in the photos. What a beautiful kitty.

It's supposed to be rainy and cloudy tomorrow. We'll see.

I hope Rosie is feeling better and is back to her ol' self again. It is so worrisome when cats are feeling well.

Rosie looks quite pleased to be pampered so! All bundled up warm in a quilt! Get well soon.
