Brrr ...(149)

Brrr, it's nippy here. I've just got back from taking Christopher to the station and I'm wearing so many layers I can barely move. Apart from my usual underwear I'm wearing thermal long johns under my trousers, a long sleeved thermal vest, a cotton polo neck and a thick sweater, as well as thick sports socks! I'm trying to avoid putting the heating on during the day, even though Christopher says I'm mad and we can afford a bit of extra heating. But if I keep busy I don't feel the cold and it makes me feel good to be saving a bit of money.

We had a lovely lunch on Sunday, with both our sons here. Christopher decided to get out his collection of Christmas hats, of which he has far too many!

Alexander was less inclined to make such a fool of himself!

I've made a few more Christmas decorations too. This dinky little quilt uses Gail Pan's free Christmas design.

I think I may find these staying up all year, as they're not really all that Christmassy.

And finally, I've made this wonderful angel from Anni Downs' book 'An Angel's Story' - isn't she great? Again, this is something I can see staying up all year round, far too nice to hide away for 11 months of the year.

And now - Christmas cards. I've finished making all our cards, addressed the envelopes and now I need to sign them. Is it just me, or is doing Christmas cards always a woman's job? If it were left to Christopher I don't think we'd send any at all.

I'll have a glass of whatever Christopher and your boys are drinking pleases. LOL

Love the goodies you made. I agree that they are too nice to put away after Christmas.

Love and hugs Gina xxx

Such cute pictures...the hats certainly have character. Your Christmas pieces have a special touch to them...especially the angel

Stay warm...you don't want to get sick...What do you heat with - coal, oil, gas, electricity, wood or what? There I go again - asking all these questions...hope you understand I want to know more about my fun fellow bloggers.

So many projects completed! Love the angel and the heart garland. I printed out the free pattern - that will have to be for Christmas next year. Great chicken hat!

Looks like a good time was had by all. Love the hats. Your angel is really cute. If you leave her out all year long maybe you could change her dress to fit the season. Stay warm and have a Merry Christmas.

Christopher and your sons are just adorable. You have such a lovely family, Amanda. You really do. It looks like they all have a magnificent sense of humor. I LOVE all your crafts. You should sell them because each and every one is a work of art.

I love the colors you used for the Gail Pan design! Did you quilt the little flowers by hand! Also enjoy looking at all those Christmas decorations. Gorgeous! I love the way Alexander is not amused. It could be a picture of my son, even though I don't think he would let me make a picture! Have a very nice weekend!

Haha! I love the hats! Very cute pictures of your men!

Your little quilt turned out beautifully. I think I may pop over to the link and grab that pattern. I agree with you, your garland and little angel need to be out all year long.

Do try and keep warm!

Egads! Christmas cards haven't started in my house yet! And I haven't made a single decoration this year. I feel like Scrooge.

The chrissie hats look fun even when someone doesn't want to look foolish...
Love what you did with the Gail Pan stitchery.. and the heart & star swag looks too nice to be put away after Christmas; love the plates in the cupboard behind the swag. Your angel is gorgeous too in her red coat, the pink wings are perfect and the floral skirt is so pretty, I would definitely leave her out all year; I too am making the same angel but she isn't finished yet.
Yes Christmas cards come under the same chapter in the marriage handbook that women will do the ironing, vaccuming, mending, etc you know all the good stuff...LOL

ssoooo creative!! I'm in awe. And is it me, but does your son with the mad hats bear a slight resemblance to Dr Who in the post above?!
