I've made:
two half square triangle blocks,
three heart blocks,
four 54-40 blocks,
one New York Beauty block,
and a partridge in a pear tree!
I've used up nearly all of my pink scraps, so I'll probably try and use up a bit more of the blue over the next few weeks.
And I'm thinking of doing the unthinkable - I'm thinking of throwing out any odds and ends that are left over each month. They just annoy me and are unlikely to get used, unless I save them up for next year, and that will probably annoy me even more. Does anyone else feel like that when you get nearly to the end of the scraps?

isnt it great to get down to sewing without lots of interuptions xx Blocks look good x When I have a collection of scraps that I KNOW I wont use they get bagged up and go to my youngest grandsons "out of school group" and they use them for making mosaics and dressing pegs .. and who knows what else xx
I sew all my crumbs together and make oven mitts or pot holders. They are great gifts
I do toss some scraps - but others I store in their respective boxes. So, yes - I DO understand your sentiment!
Throw away scraps!? The horror! No, seriously, I know just what you mean, after having been through the same bits several times, tossing out the odds and ends does seem easier. I try to choose a threshold and throw away anything smaller that isn't useable for an ongoing project.
I love the blocks! Pink is the perfect color for the month. Boy you were busy! I really like the 54/40 block and you New York beauty is terrific.
Yes I start to feel that way about my scraps too! I've seen bags of fabric scraps in our local thrift shop. I bet you could donate them.
Great blocks, I cut 2 1/2" squares from my scraps and store them in a box for later scrappy projects, anything left gets turfed
If you can't face keeping any leftover scraps you don't want, I bet there are others participating in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge who would love to get them.
Wow! You were certainly busy! I love the design and colors of each of your creations.
WOW! Impressive sew-athon Amanda!!!
I have actually learned to toss scraps of poor quality (extremely thin, scratchy, etc). Most of those are from my grandmother's fabrics I inherited in 2007.
Otherwise, nope. They all get saved to use. Although, the crumbs are collected purely to be given away; NOT a crumb quilter here.
Look at you go!! I love all your pinks... hearts must be in the air - I made one too - but different. I like your design!
I fill an old pillow case with all my cut offs and small scraps whether fabric, thread or wadding. When full I sew it up and put it in the dog's basket. He gets a comfy pillow for nothing. When it's dirty I just bin it as there's normally another one nearly done by that time

Just catching up on RSC posts. Lovely variety of scraps and blocks. If I have anything too small for a seam I use them for mulch in the garden! I was very poor growing up and learned never to waste/throw away anything. Okay, so maybe now I'm a hoarder of lots of crap!
