A busy August

I was determined to spend August catching up with things that needed finishing. So I pressed on with the second quilt for our spare bedroom, to match the one I finished a few months ago. I've quilted it differently, but apart from that they're very similar. I've just noticed from the photograph that I've put it on the bed upside down so that the baskets look as if they're tipping things out. I'll have to change that in the morning.

The other thing I've been beavering away at is block number 5 for the BOM I'm doing, Down in the Garden. It's the central block and has taken about six weeks to embroider. Because there's been so much to do I haven't started the August block yet, and the September block will be along soon.

There's not going to be much time during the rest of the month to get anything else done, as we go to spend a week at the Edinburgh Festival at the weekend. I've prepped a few things to take with me, but I doubt I shall get much done as we intend to see as many shows as we can whilst we're there.

What a beautiful embroidery block. I think I need to put this quilt on my "Want List"

You did a fabulous job on the embroidery.

Beautiful handwork...you have experienced a busy August!

Enjoy all the shows...maybe you will learn a new song...or be able to dance a new step.

Wow, those are 3 gorgeous quilts. Your spare bedroom looks like a room in a very very nice bed and breakfast. It looks so fresh and pretty. Your block 5 is also very pretty. Sounds like you have some wonderful plans.

Your spare bedroom is so colorful and restful. There is no doubt that a quilter lives there. What a wonderful way to welcome guests into you home. The stitchery is most impressive. After all of that you deserve a break.

you must be so relieved to have the central stitchery finished! yeahhhh! It looks lovely!
The basket quilts look fantastic on the twin beds, with the wallhanging quilt behind them too - it's so nice to see quilts in use!

Wish I was coming with you to Edinburgh! Love the beautiful embroidery - never done any but you have inspired me to give it a try. I am a new crafter and new blogger and am looking for inspiration for annabelleserendipity.blogspot.com and have found some here. Thanks.

I'm blown away! I always am by your projects. The two twin beds look fantastic! It's making me think again that I need to do something about our guest room. I love how your wall hanging and the quilts are all coordinated. This looks gorgeous enough to be a posh bed and breakfast.
