I've not done much foundation piecing before, so this was something new to try. The pattern is based on one in Popular Patchwork magazine and was made much easier because they gave instructions on the size of fabrics to cut. In the past when I've tried I've ended up with bits of fabric cut far too small. The signal flags fabric is some that I bought in a sale a year or so ago, and works beautifully with this quiltlet. Now all I need to do is get Christopher organised to hang it up.

Two beauties right in a row. I don't know which I like best the lighthouse and sailboats, or the butterflies, they are both wonderful.
This will be perfect to cover the "opening".
What a great solution and a super cute quilt!
Now that's a good idea!
You are quite amazing. I would never have thought of making a quilt to both decorate and conceal.
I admire you for paper-piecing - something I have difficulty with. The border flag fabric is just perfect. The lighthouse and she ships - all look so complicated - but you've done a terrific job on them.
What a lovely little quilt. Every time I try foundation piecing I think I should like it more, but it seems so much more awkward to me. I do love the results though.
What a beautiful way to cover that hole, Amanda. Great job! I'm just so envious of your talent.
It looks fabulous! having ready access to plumbing can save a lot of mess, and what a creative way to cover it up!
Great quilt and well done on paper piecing it all
Love and hugs Gina xxx
Great quilt! Foundation piecing is so challenging! But it really does make some cute intricate blocks. Good for you!
