Hi! (206)

It's been quite a while since I last wrote. I don't know why, really. I've been enjoying reading what everyone else has been up to, but just haven't felt like writing myself. Life goes on in it's easy, relaxed and pleasant way, no real hassles or problems. I've started on some physiotherapy for my ankle now, which is pretty tiring. I'm having to do exercises for my poor ankle, plus exercises for my right knee which is incredibly weak due to having polio when I was a child, as well as exercises to improve my balance, which is appalling. We've been doing plenty of gardening and my vegetables are starting to look quite promising now. I've also been doing plenty of sewing; the curtains are all finished now, except for the dining room.

Here's a few of the other things I've been working on.

I went to a class at Midsomer Quilting and made this waistcoat; I love the colours, they're so rich. I've no idea what it will go with, but I'm sure it will look good with all sorts of things.

I've finished two of Jenny at Elefantz's patterns.

And I've made a new handbag.

I'm beavering away at my Irish Chain quilt for the smaller of our guest rooms, but there are hundreds of tiny pieces, so it's pretty slow going.

Your wonky houses wall hanging looks great! I love the colors you used! I have just two of the houses stitched and have two more to do. I can't wait to get them all put together! Enjoy your day!

Amanda,

From the looks of these pictures you have been a very busy lady...just keeping that sewing machine a stitchiing right along...and all that handwork. whew, when are you sleeping?

Relax, enjoy the wekend!

Glad to hear that you are well and apparantly busy with all the sewing you've accomplished. It sounds like you'll heal quickly with all that therapy. The vest is stunning - what beautiful rich fabrics. Love the stitcheries - the house one is so cute and what a neat idea using the branch to hang it with.

The braid vest is very nice looking. I haven't made a clothing article in years.
The floral pillow is just as sweet as can be. Your purse is one that I would carry. All good stuff!

Gosh Amanda, country life obviously agrees with you as you've done some fabulous work! Be careful around Midsomer Quilting - especially if Inspector Barnaby wanders into the shop...

Love all your completed projects. Really like the colors in your vest. Hopefully the excersizes and therapy will work and you'll be able to enjoy walking more. I'm looking forward to having a garden next year don't think it's going to be possible with moving this year.

It's extraordinary what you have gotten done in a short time. Everything is gorgeous! I hope your ankle feels better very quickly. You got polio? Oh my goodness! Thank goodness you overcame it although you're left with the weak knee. Take care, Amanda.

Just hang in there with the therapy - it will be worth it if it helps you move around better - you've still got lots of new countryside to explore, remember!
And I LOVE your 2 new stitchery projects!!! The wallhanging is wonderful and your fabric choices to go with your delightful stitching were brilliant. The pillow is one anybody would love to have. The colors in the vest are truly luscious and the purse is great also.
Keep up the good work!
