My local quilt shop, the wonderful Midsomer Quilting, held a 12" x 12" mini quilt challenge, with the theme of books. Last year's inaugural event was Fruit and this year there were even more stunning quilts. I've photographed them all and entitled those I can remember or work out. If I get hold of a list of all of the quilt names I'll edit the slideshow - and apologies if I've misnamed any of the exhibits.
Next year's challenge is Movies so perhaps you could think of some ideas of films for me to use!

I just had a few minutes and came back to watch the quilt show. Thanks so much for taking the time to put it together. I loved the theme and seeing how people interpreted the books using their quilts. I think it must have especially difficult considering the 12 x 12 size. Some I really enjoyed (The Little Mermaid, Red Riding Hood, Ladies #1 Detective Agency). I saw A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, it's was one of my early favorite books.
Lots of 50 Shades of Grey quilts (oh no - not one I'm likely to ever read).
Thanks again!
Will you enter one next year?
What a great idea for a quilt show! The 12"x12" size seems like quite a challenge. Movies will make a great topic for next years, also!
What an amazing collection of beautiful little quilts. Next years theme should provide great inspiration too :)
Wow! Your photos are gorgeous and those quilts are amazing. There are a lot of very creative people out there. Perhaps you could do a quilt for Life of Pi? Then there's The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Hobbit?
