Not much to show

I've been incredibly busy over the last month, but have very few finishes to show. I've been doing a heck of a lot in the vegetable garden, weeding, digging, planting and sowing. And I've had a lot of work to do for my City and Guilds course. So I haven't had much time to do much else, though I'm aching to get to my sewing machine again and just sew.

I have a couple of very small finishes though.

Our neighbours recently had a new baby, so I made some bibs, really quick and easy but fun.

I have a large pencil case, but spend ages rummaging about in it for ordinary pencils, so made this small pencil case. I recently bought Zakka Style for my iPad and this pattern comes from the book. I've used linen and cotton and I really love the look. I look forward to making some more things when I have some more time.

It always astonishes me how your "little, quick and easy" projects look like you've worked on them for hours. They are gorgeous!

I am glad you found a little time to sew, though it sounds like most of your time was spent sowing.....
Glad you are enjoying the weather while it is nice.

I stummbled upon your blog several months ago and have been following along ever since. It seems as though our lives have taken similar paths. I too recently retired and am trying to do all the things that a life full of family and career left little time for. I have sons, a dog, a husband and have renewed my sewing hobby. And this summer I made only my second trip outside the US (the first was last year) to London and Edinburgh. Thanks so much for sharing your blog.

And the more you work with the book, the more you will love it! Even difficult projects turn out easily after all.
Enjoy!

Very nice bibs and lovely pencil case. Sounds like your garden is doing well. Ours is starting to look like it might make it with the 80 degree weather we have been having the last week. Guess I'd better go get the watering done.

Great pencil case! I remember, as a new mum, being astonished how difficult it was to keep the baby looking presentable, I used to pin tea towels around her as I only had two bibs! So I reckon bibs are a very useful gift, and these are just lovely!

Love the little finishes. I also have been taking my gardening too seriously to do anything else.

I love your little finishes. The bibs are so cute and I think your pencil case looks almost too nice to use, lol. You mentioned your Ipad and I was wondering how you like it now that you've had it awhile.
