dresden plate

I've just finished this dresden plate from a QAL hosted by Lynne at Lily's Quilts. It's pretty big as you can see, and took a bit of finagling to get it flat, but I'm really pleased with the final result. I've got loads more of the Kaffe Fassett fabric to play with.

This is the second "wheel" I have seen on a blog this morning. Not from the same project though. I guess that you have to sew accurate seams to get the block to lay flat. I would have to sew carefully in making it.

I'm impressed it does lay flat. They can be really tricky. One of these days I may try one.
